Almost everyone in their lifetime has fallen for a fictional character, whether from a cartoon or from a live reality thing. Almost everyone has wished they could be with that character and might have fantasized about it. Almost everyone went on about this one person, saying that they were like the perfect guy/gal and wished they could be real.

A very great majority of people who are fans of anything have done it.

What annoys me is half of the people who freak out at others who have the 'dating a fictional character' thing in their signatures admitted fully that they did it once before too.

What the hell. Why the fuck are you freaking out then. If you used to do it, you know that people get over it. These people will eventually get over it.

And before people say WELL IT WAS ONLY WHEN I WAS TEN there are people of all ages who'll look at a character and fall...especially Lord of the Rings characters. I had to go through most of my childhood having to hear my Mom gush over and over about what's-his-face's character every time we watched the movies. The black-haired guy. Haven't watched it in a while so the name's left me.

And I've seen maaany older women and men that fall for characters. From the time we acknowledge what crushes are until we're dead we'll probably feel a little soft spot for some characters.

Personally, I still have crushes against characters but I'm not so fucking serious - and I just bet that most of these people who have those siggies are not that fucking serious either. I have only seen a few who have been serious and yes, the extreme lengths they go to is somewhat sad, but what can you seriously do?

Myself, I would just think I have died and gone to heaven if one of the villainesses from Batman popped up because just mmph, or take any genderbent character from Hetalia, but c'mon. It isn't that big of a deal.

If you're not trolling, just let people have their fun.

Crushing on a character is mostly okay, as long as you don't go around claiming the character is 'yours' and stuff like that.

I admit it, I have some character crushes myself, but IRL I really just want a nice guy who will like me for who I am. And sadly that's hard to find where I'm at. But I'll keep looking for him and keep myself pseudo-occupied with charas. Of course I'm not gonna write self-insert stories and stuff like that.
