You just have to know when to call it quits, that's all.

See, roleplaying, like...well, any hobby that may have derived mostly out of Japan is looked down upon as being pathetic, a waste of time, etc - in my own view it's nothing more than two people coming together to create a story, and creating a story is never a waste of time to myself.
Alright, a lot of the time with a lot of people it's just porn but I'm one of those who enjoy creating a whole world of story, someone who loves writing out full details in as many paragraphs as I can squeeze in.

And with that in mind...I honestly don't think it's any worse than crying while reading, watching a movie, or doing anything of that sort. Especially if you're like me and have played a certain character for a while, so if anything happens you start blubbering because you've gotten to know them.

This was inspired by my most recent roleplay with :iconhoshira: which, goddammit made my eyes leak so bad that as I'm writing this they're still all itchy. I've just played that character so often and so much over and gotten so comfortable in knowing her (for the last two years actually :iconohyoudogplz: ) that I'll start tearing up like a damned baby if something big happens.

My only thing is...as I said up there one does have to take it easy. I mentioned an old roleplay partner of mine who got a little...far too emotional over roleplays to the point where she said she was suicidal.

I don't know about anyone else but I just cry and get it over it unless I go back to it. Which I often to. Because, damn, sometimes the roleplays that made you cry are some of the best.

Oh lord some of the plots me and my friends come up with in rping are just-they can be so sad and emotional that I can't help but let a few tears leak out. At first I felt silly, but like you said it's really no different then getting emotional or feeling sad if there's a sad part in a book, movie, tv show etc. I do put a warning though in most of my rp's not to cause too much drama to the point a player has to leave or feels depressed afterwards, there should be a limit to how far drama can go in roleplays. But other than that I think it's perfectley normal to feel emotional when roleplaying.

A sin? no. Sins are serious and getting emotional over a fictional game character is ridiculous. :-)
I can understand emotions, even for a movie, like when a father dies in front of his son like
in "The Champ".It brought me to tears when I was a kid and to date it would do so even more
because I'm a father now. But in the end "IT'S A MOVIE", it's fictional, it's not real and so is a game.
