Belieeeve It or Nooooot by endler Belieeeve It or Nooooot by endler
I should have put the still before 'believe in God' but I do not feel like fixing it, as usual.

Anyway, I'm not Christian, but I have met many online who are gay and Christian, and have a friend offline who is very, very, veeery Christian but is bisexual.

And I feel so bad for them.

If you're not religious, you can just roll your eyes at the 'BIBLE SAYS IT'S WRONG' argument against homosexuality and be all 'don't believe in it brah.' But people who are Christian...God, they get:

"WHAT YOU CANNOT BE GAY IT GOES AGAINST JESUS YOU'RE NOT FOLLOWING THE BIBLE YOU'RE DISOBEYING YOUR OWN GOD GOD HATES YOU NOW YOU'RE A SINNER YOU'RE NOT CHRISTIAN DIDN'T YOU SEE THAT IN BATMAN 20:12 THEY ALL SAID IT'S WRONG BAAAW."

You Christians are just such a funny bunch. You say that your God loves all and doesn't discriminate and doesn't hate - and you'd think that one of the people in that religion would get an even bigger free pass than anyone else. :T

Just allow them to go on with their lives. They can be Christian and homosexual. Your excuses are starting to get extremely lame considering that there's a million different quotes that people say are legit and half of the people of your religion says that nowhere in any religious text of yours does it say shit about homosexuality. And please don't clog up my comments section with bible quotes unless they're nice ones.

You know. Tolerance. The only thing I request for my comments sections of my stamps.

I thought you so called Christians were supposed to have that as a pretty big damn virtue.

Well the thing is, the theological basis for this entire issue is actually quite simple.

All of the abrahamic religions consider children to be a gift from heaven to be treasured, and that a lack of reproduction is a blight.

Although there have been various mistranslations and errors for many centuries about this, the fact of the matter is that The creator of the universe made people the way they are,
so if that creator does not ever make mistakes, then said creator wanted those people to be the way they are to start with.

However; there are several other theological information bits that explain this in detail.

The first of which is the book of enoch. This book of bible is one that is actually actively shunned by many churches out there,
but it is a book that explains in detail how in the past various fallen angels fell from heaven and mated with humans to make half-human/half-angel hybrids.
These hybrids where known as the nephalem, and they were creatures often known for being quite tall and having a hunger for the flesh of normal humans.
It is also said that these hybrids were worshipped as demi-gods from time to time, and that the flood noah survived on with his ark was started because god wanted to kill all the hybrids with water to "cleanse the earth".
Well the city of sodom was a city that an angel traveled to, but there was people living there who tried to rape the angel, so god got really pissed off and destroyed the place with fire and brimstone and all that.
He got pissed not only because the people were going to hurt the angel, but also because there was the possibility that this incidient could have made another angel-human hybrid again, by force. Which was prohibited after the flood.
So, from that point on sodomy was a term used to describe sexual acts that would piss off heaven so much that it would drop and wreak destruction on the people doing it.
Obviously this has absolutely nothing to do with what humans do to other humans in their sex life, so its definately misleading to compare the two as such.

Basically the idea that non-reproductive sexualities are a heresy of some kind is actually just due to an unfortunate misunderstanding of the true theology.

Now as for artificial modern reasons why non-reproductive sexualites are becoming more common place, there is the fact petro-chemical corporations have been dumping horomone mimickers into the environment for decades now,
so it is possible that some (but NOT all) people out there have had their horomones imbalanced from a very young age, including before they were even born, which altered their brain chemistry in some way.
This means it is outright likely that some homosexuals are that way because they were originally hetero, but they were modified from aritficial contaminants in their blood stream,
and some heterosexuals are that way because they were originally homo but they were modified by artificial contaminants in their blood stream. It works both ways, and of course it includes trans and bi people as well.

This is even an objectively plausible explanation for other modern issues like emotionally unstable people (since horomone imbalances have already been proven to cause intense mood swings) and even people who have insomnia.

Ironically enough this gives a tiny bit of credibility to those who doubt the naturality of any aspect of modern sociology, sexual or otherwise.

Indeed. I can be gay and support killing gay people.

Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them."

there's no real reason behind it, god just says its an abombination.

Actually that quote that is a mistranslation.

If you ask a jewish rabbi to give a proper translation of that passage like I did,
You wil find that the passage actually says

"If there is a man who lies with a boy as he would with a women, both of them have committed a detestable act; they must surely be put to death for their blood has been spoiled by the guilty"

This just goes to show how you should always keep translation errors in mind when reading any ancient text, religious or otherwise.

Then what's with all the other passages condemning homosexuality? And then why is Christianity so fiercely against homosexuals?

skepticsannotatedbible.com/gay…

heck, there's one that straight out says "Homosexual acts are an abomination to god." I don't care if it's mistranslation, it's straight out of the english bible as people have read it. It's the text that people read now, and how they interpreted it for centuries now.

And looking at it historically, people have also burnt homosexuals for centuries since the middle ages back when witches were a thing. And back then was when the bible was most influential to the world.

Thing is, why do some christians still hate homosexuals? What they do in their private lives usually doesn't effect them directly, so why? It's almost like an "I'm on a diet so you can't have a cookie" mindset, where they have a religion so others can't marry.

"I don't care if it's mistranslation".

That's the thing right there: I highly recommend that you start at least taking that into consideration.

Well the thing is, burning witches was done that at that time because back then paganism/wicca has various traditions of ritual child sacrifice and cannibalism.
The pagans and wiccans would often kidnap the children of christian, jewish, and muslim families and cut the children into little pieces and eat their flesh, and drink their blood,
because pagans and wiccans beleive that if you absorb the youth of the young you can be young and live forever, so they thought drinking child's blood was a means of immortality.

If someone wanted to kill and eat your children, you wouldn't like them very much either, would you?

Well that and in those days, agriculture was hard and food was difficult to come by, so in those days killing off everyone who was not reproducing (yes, that does include infertile hetero couples too)
was an absolute nessessity in order for those societies to survive through harsh times like cold long winters and plague epidemics.
There was just not enough food to go around for everyone, so killing off everyone who was not contributing to the survival of the society directly was just a way of getting rid of the extra mouths to feed.
It is arrogant for people living comfortably in the lands of plenty of nowadays with everything they could ever want or need being provided by modern technology to think our ancestors were stupid for doing what they had to.

As for why various groups nowadays still hate those they have nothing to do with, they are described by one word: Ignorance.
The fact of that matter is that if God does not make mistakes and Homosexuals exist, then that very god wanted them to exist from the start.
Although there are lots fo christians out there who know this and agree with it, the ones who don't are just a loud minority.

According to the original theology, The city of sodom was destroyed because a bunch of people living there tried to rape an angel.
This has nothing to do with what humans do with each other in private.
However there are some christians who are mistakenly thinking that sodomy laws do somehow apply to what humans do to each other.

Another issue is that where modern science is concerned, the petro-chemical industry has been dumping horomone mimicking chemicals into the environment for decades now.
Professional scientists are usually pressured by political and financial groups to not look into the effects this has on the public, but it has been proven already that these
horomone mimickers have the ability to modify brain chemistry when it is in the blood stream of individuals that are susceptible to it.
It is plausible that there at least some people out there who are homosexual when they would have been heterosexual naturally if they had not had their biology contaminated by these petro-chemical residues.
The reverse is also true: There are at least some people out there who are currently heterosexual when they would have been homosexual naturally had their biology not been contaminiated either.
This provides a reasonable and objectively plausible explaination for why some people consider certain sexualities to be not natural or a type of mental illness. They could be correct to a degree.
Although obviously this does not give them an excuse for being jerkholes.

The last issue is that I also know why christians are upset about "open" marriage. They say that some people would use it as an excuse to marry dogs, because in history that actually happened.
There actually was several points in history where the definition of marriage was changed and then many people started using that as a way to marry their siblings, small children, and animals.
Sure we can tell them that it will not lead to that, but they have objectively legitimate reasons for thinking that it will. It happened before, so it can happen again. Doesn't mean it will, but it's a risk many dont want to take.

Does God love everyone? Perhaps. Is he real? Maybe.

If he does love everyone, though, he must be very disappointed in homophobes and anyone else who hates someone just because "THEY GO AGAINST THE GOOD BOOK!" You know what else is in the good book? "Love thy neighbor!"

"Batman 20:12?!" OMFG!!!

That was funny! Anyway, my ex-boyfriend set me up once, making me believe that homosexuality is "stupid." That ultimately aroused some people, including someone who had made an account, trying to impersonate me. I mean, I shouldn't have said words like "stupid" and "abomination," but honestly, my ex-boyfriend is to blame on his part.

I want to go into my long winded arguement as to why every Christian saying the Bible condemns homosexuality, is wrong. The ONLY place it is mentioned is in rules for an ex pagan community listing their previous worship practices and stating that that community could not do that any longer.

I am gay. God loves me. God loves all. He never said to hate anyone for any reason. Stop being so hateful people!

And thank you for the lovely stamp.

Could you say which book, chapter and verse this is that it is for that community? thank you!

Again, the passage could be heavily mistranslated, and from dubious sources, seeing the Bible as we know it now is a translation of a translation of a recollection of something that happened over a millennium before they began writing.

That's good to hear, because your original "gay people can believe in God but they can't be Christians" comment was horrendously ignorant of one of the most basic pillars of Christianity. If you've accepted Christ in your heart as your savior, you're a Christian. Period.

Homosexual activity is a sin just like every other sin, so a gay person is just as capable of being a Christian as you or me. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
