Nice and seizurey and hard to read! |D

It says 'dubbed names are not that bad'; it concerns when a Western dubbing company takes an anime and switches the Japanese names into Western ones.

Honestly, myself...I do sort of have to agree, though most of my opinion might be from nostalgia. I've learned the fact that the names I always knew in Sailor Moon were not the original names years and years ago...and still have yet to actually learn them apart from Usagi and Chibiusa. :iconlazycryplz:

I personally say it depends on the anime, tbh.

i always knew hetalia characters by their japanese names when i started watching the anime subbed.
but i really only knew igirisu, amerika, roshia, roderihi(if roshia and roderihi are incorrect please correct me uwu i'm not using the wiki right now),doitsu, ore sama, and itaria.
uwu i also tried watching black butler,it looked retarded. and the episodes were long as fuck. almost 30 minutes.

i watched queen's blade dubbed,i like it dubbed.

the only anime i like subbed is hetalia because THEIR VOICES ok

In Serial Experiments Lain, there are actually English names in the original Japanese version, and the theme is totally in English. XD There are two characters named Arisu and Juri, which are the Japanese romaji spellings of Alice and Julie. It's kind of weird~

But I agree. English names aren't really that bad. When I was a kid watching Naruto, I didn't know how to say or spell ANYONE'S name. D: I'm pretty sure they only do it for simplicity so that the children aren't tripping over those difficult names.

I agree. I can't pronounce the Japanese names.

Personally, I would agree on some parts on that.

What anime I didn't like was Ika Musume being just Squid Girl and eliminating the "de geso" suffix on whatever she says. That was one of my favorite animes being less fun on the English version.

Most of the time, English dubbing keeps the Japanese names. But I agree that changed names aren't always bad. I grew up with the English names for Pokemon and Yugioh.
I don't watch subs (unless the show isn't dubbed) anyway.

Honestly... most of the time it's really bad. Some dubs are good or just decent, but most of them lack the passion and professionality of the Japanese original.

There are some JAP>ENG translations and renames that aren't that bad, but it's when they try to localize the show that shit hits the fan.
Point in case...
Red>Red
Green>Blue
Blue>Leaf
...The fuck happened there? Their names are FUCKING COLOURS! How to you screw that up?

Honestly it all depends on who dubbed the anime.

4kids always does a shitty job with anime and give them a stupid american name that changes everything (like tokyo mew mew became mew mew power) thats when i get ticked off.

But I know of many dubbed names like black butler that still make sense and dubbed animes done by funimation are brilliant.

I feel this way about the names in the Kirby anime dub. Personaly Tiff and Tuff sound better as children's names than Fumu and Bun.
