I think I just described every quality that makes people who don't like My Little Pony: FIM hate a lot of Bronies and Pegasisters, or just average fans as well.
Please note when I mean 'want to be part of the herd'...well, it's the same as my other note 'just want to be like everyone else'. As in those people who don't really like the show, but just want to be part of the fandom for the hell of it, so they can go around screaming 'IMMA BRONY'.

Now...when I first discovered the new Generation, it was through DA and the fanart I kept seeing on the front page.
Unlike most who couldn't understand why people liked the show for such reasons as 'It's for two-year olds, nyeeeeh' the reason I couldn't understand was because I really, really didn't like any of the previous gens when I was little, save for the toys. Even back then they always seemed too bland and fluffed up.
Then I discovered who exactly was involved, discovered that it was the same person who dabbled in Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and decided to try it out.
I had no idea that 4Chan had taken it and put it into memes and reaction pictures that brought it to a larger fame when I tried it out. It was just another cartoon to watch, and being someone who has a fondness for cartoons, it peaked my interest, with it's difference to other gens, it's different sense of humour, it's interesting (though cliched) characters, and it's somewhat adventurous and interesting stories. There were still its extremely, extremely girly moments, but they still seemed a bit downplayed and alright.

After that I discovered the Bronies, the 'welcome to the herd', those particular Bronies who can't stand opinions other than their own and try to shove ponies down other's throats by pestering them to like the show.

Yes, I do prefer to myself as a Brony now, and I do enjoy a lot of the fanart and fanfiction, as I do for other things I enjoy. I also do enjoy the fandom now a lot more...but all in all, I just like the show for what it is. I don't care if someone hates it, I don't care if there are older men who actually like it for what it is; all the more power to them, if they truly enjoy it.
If it came to it, screw the fandom, screw the desperate want to spread MLP to other people, just give me the show to watch and I'll be content.

So, yeah. This is a stamp for those fans who weren't sucked in for memes or trolling or the rather fake appearance of 'love and tolerance'...they just watched the cartoon and liked it.

I didn't even go on websites where MLP FIM had taken over until after I watched the show. I do love seeing other's pony art since it's adorbs but it's not the reason I'm a fan. So I agree with this stamp ^^

If I didn't bother to check who the voice actors were and learn they were ones I like, I would have hated the show without having watched it.

I agree with this 100%. I don't care for memes, spreading love or being integral part of a "herd" that's more like an organized religion rather than a real fandom. I just like the show because I found it to be good, and that's all.

Mm. As someone else who commented on this said, most of the memes and the like are just an added bonus to enjoy if you feel like it.
I still like being in some of the fandom, humouring those who welcome me to the herd when I eventually came to like this.

I dunno. I can avoid them easily, so I seldom think of them, but I find them unnerving.

It was worse when the fandom first erupted. Everyone seemed to act like some sort of forbidden religious cult out to brainwash and enslave everyone on the planet. I lost two friends to that mentality. One of them is still on dA and the only thing he even tolerates talking about is ponies.

So, yeah, I'm wary of almost anything the fandom does. But the show is still wonderful.

So true on many parts.

Personally, I kind of find the fandumb of MLP to be amusing rather than annoying. I mean, the whole fact that it is a bunch of dudes who (really) like ponies is just an explosion of irony. Also, the memes are funny when they are done right.

But yeah, the reason why people like MLP is because of how fun the show is.
