I was going to make this snazzy and it was going to be about how you're a horrible excuse for a human being if you use the murder of someone to threaten people with your religion, but Gimp is officially boned and I can't make animated stamps anymore. Thus the tiny text.
The above description is indeed inspired like many stamps, but obviously the names of those involved will be hidden because adults are now more easy to offend when people half their age are talking about them we need to protect these people.
For the first time in a long while you can lay back and just read one of my stories of deviant stupidity. Though for once, I'm going to lay something down that I actually find to be the most vile, disgusting, revolting act anyone on this site has ever committed (when it came to religious matters).
So I was cruising pages. Came across one of the many normal religious people on here that everybody and their Mother hates by now. I was going to pass through to another page until I caught something about death in their journal on top of the page. I looked and saw at first they were noting something about a homosexual who was murdered in the middle east. I thought there was going to be something normally disgusting like 'he deserved it' or something like that.
Instead, in the somewhat short journal the user...bold is needed here.
The user decided to use the very brutal murder of this other human being as an excuse to, for the millionth time, tell people they have to repent and have to follow their ways, or else they will turn up just like this man. It was also used as an excuse so LGBT folks can stop their apparent hate mongering to every single Christian out there and instead focus on Muslims for their primal hatred of anyone who disagrees with them.
I'm sorry, but no. I don't know about anyone else but that would just make me hate Christians like that a hell lot more than people from another religion. I know people use some really downright low excuses to push their religion around, but to take the killing of someone just so you can say, 'Muslims will kill you immediately, but Jesus will forgive you if you repent this very second,' just makes you an inhumane waste of thought. Same goes for if you add any other religious figure other than Jesus in that sentence. Ignore the fact that a human died and just use it so you can tell everyone to accept your ways already!
And then sit back and wonder why the hell people are always snapping at you and hating on your religion.
Oh yes; this person also gets bonus points for stereotyping every single Muslim out there. Good job on being a love-thy-neighbor Christian.
"Having a religion is like having a penis. It's OK to have one, and it's OK to be proud of it. However, do not shove it down people's throats and never assume you're better than anyone else for either having one OR NOT having one."
I like living by those words. And I can defiantly see myself why a lot of people hate Christians like me, to say that we "don't deserve the hate" is one of the stupidest things to say to anybody. A lot of us are trash, I can give you that :/
I couldn't agree with you more. Especially since as a kid I had teachers and was around other adults who's concept of God pretty much made all the Olympians seem perfectly sane by comparison. Heck, Loki, seemed perfectly sane by comparison too.
and before anyone asks: yes I am aware that there are plenty of sane Christians out there, I just had the misfortune of being surrounded by ones that almost seemed lobotomized and being a young kid...it kind of conditioned me and other experiences led to PTSD regarding Christianity.
I was once told by a christen that i was going to hell cause i was in a different religion and he told me what i was and i said i was catholic and then he shoved that all Catholic's are going to hell crap down my throat
lol even the one's that think its only real/true if its in the bible kind of like the one's that say god only made us and were the only living things in the hole f-ing universe when there's like 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 galaxies
(As someone who was raised Catholic, and is something of a history buff, I shall give le explanation.) Catholics are Christians. "Christians" is a broad term that refers to all who believe in the Bible, Jesus, and all that jazz. Catholics are a type of Christian. I think the confusion is that Protestants usually refer to themselves as simply "Christian" and Catholicism is treated as a separate thing? The church is split into so many different denominations it can give you a headache, but the main splits were Christianity --> Roman Catholic and Orthodox (Western and Eastern Europe, basically.), then Martin Luther came along and Roman Catholic --> Catholics and Protestants and then Protestants --> every denomination under the sun, like Lutherans, Baptists, Methodists, Anglicans, Presbyterians... The main difference between Catholics and Protestants is that Protestants tend to only believe in the Bible while Catholics have the "good works" and all the Sacrements, and all kinds of lovely ceremonies and traditions, and also have a much more organized clergy, we got the Pope, etc. Tbh, it's all incredibly nitpicky and ridiculous. To claim that your subgroup of a subgroup of a religion is the only right one, and everyone else in the world is going to hell... smh.
Old comment, so I knew before you replied. Thanks for explaining though, I got the idea. Catholics have similar beliefs, but different studies and traditions. I don't get why people act like Catholicism is some sort of alien religion, when it's similar to Christianity.
I thought the same thing. In my Civics class, my teacher told me when John Kennedy (I think that's who it was) was elected for president, people were freaking out since he was Catholic. Most U.S presidents were Christian, so it was a new thing for them.
Okay. I always wondered, what's the huge difference between Catholic and Christian anyways? I tried Googling it, but they can't seem to help me with it and only gave me small differences. It's basically saying you got a yellow duck, and another bird that has the exact physical appearance and traits of a duck, but isn't one due to it's color. Can someone explain this to me?
If I remember correctly its a simple reason( correct me if I'm wrong)
Catholics follow under the Pope
Christians follow the bible
Once again correct me if I'm wrong. From what I learned going to a catholic school, their are MANY similarities between the two...almost identical..this is one of the few notable differences. Hope it helped a little
Yeah I can see that. But when people start attacking nice, genuinely nice religious people, who won't kill you, won't yell at you for not being a part of their church, won't even shove their beliefs down your throat, get blamed for shit the WBC, or some Jihad bastard, or some arbitrary religious extremist did, then it's wrong.
Every group has Assholes in it! There are many, many , MANY kind hearted Christians/ Religious Peoples out there. The problem is the stupid dumb-asses end up having the loudest mouths and the most Tv/News time. Whats more news selling? Good, Normal people, or the controversial ass shat?
I don't. Others do and then blame me for it because I'm a Christian, and they then just fucking assume I hate gays and non-believers. One of my best friends is gay, and well, I've only met one nice Atheists in my entire life so.... But I'm friends with him too.
I hope that this doesn't target Muslims only! since Islam isn't about kill this kill that! I wish I could find those pussies and tell them about a chapter in Qur'an that those motherfuckers perfectly messed it!
since I find Islam being "the most hated/worst religion ever" and what piss me off the most, they start bashing Islam, while doesn't even know what it is? biggest lie I ever heard is the "child marriage" thing! excuse me?
Welp, no this wasn't bashing any particular religion, not even Christianity (which I'm surprised that's not what you thought this stamp was purely about as that was the example I put). None of my religious stamps attack any religion.
What I don't get is why Stem-cell research and Abortion are still being argued over?!
So you're telling me that we won't begin stem-cell research and outlaw abortion because it will make a few religious people angry?
Society has REVOLVED AROUND RELIGION before, and it has never ended pretty. (Catholics *cough**cough*)
Here are some indisputable facts: There may or may not be a god. We have no idea what god looks like. Our god may be a goddess, and that goddess may be a group of gods.
Doesn't get us anywhere, I know. But they are nevertheless indisputable facts. If you don't agree with them, then sorry for sounding harsh, but you are no longer human in my eyes.
Wanna hear some more?: Science is law, and indisputable. Theory is a term used to describe an "explanation for a phenomenon based on several observations". Thus, the "Big Bang Theory", and the "Theory of Evolution" are accepted by the scientific community. They are indisputable. If you don't agree with them, then sorry for sounding harsh, but you are no longer human in my eyes. (HOWEVER! Science is as science does. If you don't agree with them, the GO FIND EVIDENCE TO DISPROVE THE THEORIES. Then they will become false, and society will change it's beliefs accordingly)
Knowing these, There could still be a god. (I personally will refer to the one true god(s) as "god", "he", "him", and "his") He could have created the big bang. Watched the fireworks for a little bit. When the smoke cleared, he had planets. Got bored; put plankton in the water and went from there. Sat back and watched existance over the years. That's what I believe anyway. And it is rational; a belief that demands tolerance in itself.
Yes, indeed. I am a Catholic. But what I really get angered with is the stereotypes about us "hating homosexuals" and "dissing science". I do not really find any problems in what you said, nor will I ever. When I told my mother about learning about evolution she was shocked ('cause ya know). But that is exactly what I thought. Science is true, unless you find legit proof about it being false. Some people I definitely disagree with in my own religion, but it will always be that way. That is how the branches of Christianity formed. Disbeliefs and disagreements are how wars were brought upon us. People being forced to convert other people. That is why people hate certain religions and such. And there is no definite evidence that God is real, nor completely not real. I believe. But as far as anyone else, that should not matter to them. Hence, another reason why people hate certain religions. It's no wonder why the Catholic religion is not one of the largest ones out there. That that is something that is obvious as well. And the Bible is not all truth. There is the general story, but, the Gospels were FOUR different interpretations of what happened in the beginning of the New Testament. And that doesn't mean that someone cannot also change the words to how they want them to be. Has anyone ever wondered about that? Someone can just make a bunch of copies and say, " THIS IS IT! THIS IS THE COMPLETE TRUTH! EVERYTHING ELSE IS A LIE!" And anyone can hope for peace, but it will just not happen, no matter how long, there will still be genecides, racism, and stereotypes. That is some cold, hard truth for you right there. And evolution and Creation do intertwine, if you really think about for a second, the "7 days" might have been "7 thousand/ million/ billion days/ months/ years. Which gives you gradualism. And for abortion and stem-cell research, DAMMIT, JUST LET PEOPLE DO WHAT THEY WANT TO DO. FOR CRYING OUT FREAKING LOUD. You cannot argue with science. So yeah, those are my views on that subject. What you said there is true on my basis.
