Because this quote was apparently from him. Okay not really. But still, if you reeeeally feel like complaining about it, go to that twitter account that made it more popular.
Ah hell, who am I really kidding. I can sense impending shitstorms and this one was so strong I was nearly knocked out in the middle of making this stamp. So, I kept seeing this everywhere on Spirit Day and decided to transfer it to stamp. Don't know if I'm the first to do so, but here it is.
I also don't know if the person actually clarified more on this or not, but I would be guessing he/she's more talking about the folks who take the term and plaster it on themselves just so they can act like a dick horse, and when you ask them why they're being a dick horse to these people, they can just say, 'Oh, well, I'm homophobic, so I'm allowed to do it.'
That was the way I first saw it. Though honestly, looking back in the way I put it, even if you do have a true fear I still don't see a reason to be a dick horse. I don't feel like murdering and being a complete dick horse to someone who has the flu/is going to throw up/is sick/might throw up. If people with my fear acted like 'homophobics' every single sick person in the world whose symptoms including vomiting would be ostracized, murdered, hated upon, and would probably have to start up parades so they aren't hated as much.
Men and Women are supposed to act according to genetic protocols and societal norms. Men can be attracted to women and women can be attracted to men.
Gays are reversed which makes them uncomfortable to be around for some people hence the wierd homophobia. It makes perfect sense when you consider that people who are arachnophobic are uncomfortable around spiders.
I find it shameful that A LOT of bronies go around hating on gay/lesbian shipping and they just go, "Oh I'm homophobic hurrdurrhurr." But then again, people who hate gays are EVERYWHERE, and it makes me want to kill myself.
I don't hate homosexuals, I just get annoyed with the majority of homosexual men because they're everything I hate in girls. If you want to be a girl or like a girl, don't take on the traits of the most annoying, bratty girls possible. I'm not a homophobe, but my certain opinion doesn't make me an asshole, just saying.
It's not stereotyping, I never said that I know every gay man in the world. I didn't assume they all act like that, I said that I dislike the certain gay men that do act like that, many of whom I have spent time with.
I saw this XD And even though I'm straight, I fully support gays. They're closer to understanding themselves than people who just poke fun at gays and saying they're a disgrace to society or something stupid of that nature
When I first saw this quote, and every time since it first got popular, all I see is 'I don't like/agree with that, so I'm going to deny it exists.' Which is kind of a dick move. You don't get to decide what does and does not exist simply because you personally don't like it or agree with it. I don't get to say 'I hate the word Republican, it's not a political party, you aren't conservative, you're delusional.'
Phobia doesn't just means fear, it also means unreasonable aversion to. Like someone who is xenophobic is not literally afraid of outsiders. Chemicals which are hydrophobic aren't literally afraid of water. They're repelled by it.
They do for Islam. They consider criticism of Islam to be racist -- even though it's a religion -- presumably because most followers are Arab. (Indonesia is the largest Islamic country, but the religion didn't originate there.)
If I stated that criticism of Christianity was racist against those of European decent, a.k.a White people, (the main followers throughout the middle ages were Whites.) I'd probably be laughed at.
